METHOD & INSTRUMENTATION
Any Polygraph examinations/interviews will be conducted making use of equipment (Lafayette LX4000, LX5000, LX6000) manufactured in the USA and approved methods or techniques according to the set standards of the American Polygraph Association (APA) and British European Polygraph Association (BEPA).
The Lafayette LX4000 system records physiological responses using four channels and records the responses in the cardio-vascular system, galvanic skin responses and breathing patterns.
EXAMINATION PROCEDURES
The standard Polygraph examination procedures consists of three basic steps starting off with a pre-examination interview of approximately twenty eight questions based on the relevant incident or subject during which the examinee is scored on verbal and non-verbal gestures/behaviour.
A polygraph test with a minimum of three charts will follow scored according to the accredited techniques of the American Polygraph Association (APA) and finally a post-examination interview will be conducted. A total score is only obtained after completing the pre- and post-interviews as well as the polygraph examination whereby the examinee is evaluated accordingly.
